Autumn dressing in Summer weather – Casual Wear

Summer is officially over here in Australia, but since it’s still pretty hot out here for us, I’m not exactly grabbing a woolly scarf or leather jacket just yet.  I’m embracing the seasonal change early by adopting autumnal colours such as burgundy and deep olives (check out my nail colour!)…but still keeping cool with light materials – preferably sleeveless like this cute Tobi dress (tobi.com/au).

Family portraits with Viva Photography

We live in an age where we take photos constantly. How simple is it to just pop out our phones from our pockets and snap away? Anyone can do it but yet with the hundreds if not thousands of photos I take of my kids, I still struggle to find something nice enough to enlarge, frame and hang on the wall.

The truth behind my Instagram photos of my girls (shooting my house is 100x easier and less likely to end up with me screaming) is that I have to take dozens of shots to just get the one picture I will end up posting – and most of the time I’m unable to get a decent shot of all 3 of them.

So I jumped at the chance to review the products and service from Viva Photography…and finally be able to get a nice photograph to frame and even gift to my mother and mother-in-law #winning.

Summer Fun with Clark Rubber

clarkrubber_sassandspice3

What are your memories of summer school holidays? For me, it was sipping on fruit flavoured icy poles, watching the Australian Open tennis on TV (with the air conditioning cranked up) and having lots of fun with water. Back when I was a kid (this was pre-iPads and pre-iPhones) most of the time I just enjoyed being outside with my imagination and the simplest of toys during the summer holidays.

So it was exciting for my girls when they received the Double Superslide and the Giant Hippo Ride On from Clark Rubber. Slightly reminiscent of the toys I had when I was younger but now bigger and better! We knew we would have loads of fun with these toys during the summer school holidays and also be kept cool at the same time.

The Tuutu Baby Box

{This is a sponsored blog post. Words and opinion are my own}

When I left the hospital with my first baby I knew it wouldn’t come with a manual, but I didn’t think receiving a bag crammed with pamphlets and samples of generic branded baby lotions were going to really help me either – but this is exactly what happened each time I had baby right here in Australia!

For 75 years in Finland however, mothers actually get given something quite different and special. Would you believe me if I told you it was a cardboard box?

New Brownes Mini’s Yoghurt Pouches

thumb_img_2223_1024

Did you know Australians consume an average 105 litres of milk per person per year (according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics), but that amount is still not enough and dairy is actually the second most lacking food group in the Australian diet after vegetables?

My girls aren’t milk drinkers so I have to find other ways to get their dairy intake…and the new Brownes yoghurt pouches are perfect!

Second Nature Botanicals

I first met Kirsty Shorten in East Fremantle which resulted in an hour ‘coffee catch-up’ and a shopping trip down George Street. I found out she used to work in the mining industry (like me) and has now started her own natural home and cleaning products which are safe for kids and pets. I absolutely love her products and asked her a few questions about her products and business…
