During the July school holidays we managed to get out of the house (despite the bad weather) and enjoy the City of Perth Winter festival. There were a variety of activities set up all over the CBD so it was a lot of fun for the kids to do something different each time. We started the festival with the the giant white ball pit set up in Yagan Square. My kids enjoyed it so much that they even convinced me to jump in too!

After the white ball pit, we were in the spirit to see some snow – but pity it never snows in Perth…however we were happy to see the ‘next best thing’ which was a foam machine that blew ‘snow bubbles’ into the crowd. We then headed back to Yagan Square to check out the neon rainbow and finish the day with some some delicious donuts.

During the next few days, we came into the city again to see the shows at the Yagan Dome which also came in handy when sheltering ourselves from the rain. The highlights were attending the Scitech show (where we learnt that a nappy could hold up to 2 litres of liquid!) and creating a live polka dot art show like our very own Yayoi Kusama masterpiece.

For once during winter, my kids didn’t complain about being bored and it was great way to enjoy the city – we will definitely be back next year. Check out my Instagram and Facebook to see more of the fun!
