What are your memories of summer school holidays? For me, it was sipping on fruit flavoured icy poles, watching the Australian Open tennis on TV (with the air conditioning cranked up) and having lots of fun with water. Back when I was a kid (this was pre-iPads and pre-iPhones) most of the time I just enjoyed being outside with my imagination and the simplest of toys during the summer holidays.
So it was exciting for my girls when they received the Double Superslide and the Giant Hippo Ride On from Clark Rubber. Slightly reminiscent of the toys I had when I was younger but now bigger and better! We knew we would have loads of fun with these toys during the summer school holidays and also be kept cool at the same time.
The Double Superslide is so easy to set-up, all we needed was some space in the garden, connect up to the outside tap, and have enough energy to control the kid’s excitement whilst the slide fills with water and gets wet enough for the sliding to commence. Then let the fun times and smiles begin…it’s so simple!
We were also lucky to receive a Giant Hippo Ride On inflatable and boy did Miss L love her new humungous friend. We have already taken the hippo to the beach and to a friend’s pool too. Like all inflatables, the Hippo is not a life saving device, but is large enough and designed for kids (and big kids) to ride and certainly provided fun times in the waves on the beach.
The best thing about these toys is that they allow our kids to have fun outside even in the sweltering heat. And it keeps their minds away from just being inside and watching the TV or playing with the iPad.
Always remember, never leave children unattended when playing near water. Also, check with your local council for pool and spa fencing, safety and water regulations.
