My Winter beauty products
In winter, my skin gets really dry and it often makes my eczema worst, so I really need to take good care of my skin during the cooler months. I basically up the ante with moisturising my body, face, hair and lips and where possible, I choose products with natural ingredients without any nasties like sulphates and parabens.
Once a week after cleansing, I apply the Dermalogica multivitamin recovery masque to deeply replenish my skin. It’s antioxidant rich which helps with repair and anti-aging. I use the Avene Thermal water to tone my skin and I spray my face during the day when I feel I need a bit more moisture. I find it’s a real gentle product for sensitive skin and also for the days when you are sick with the cold/flu for that red and painful sandpaper-like skin around your lips and nose.
I keep this bottle of Grown Vanilla and Orange Peel hand cream near my bed and once a week I use it in conjunction with the Bliss Glamour Gloves to give a deep moisturise to my hands and they feel ultra soft afterwards. Grown is a brand I discovered last year and I love the chic minimalist packaging and their philosophy of using organic and natural ingredients without chemicals to still deliver real anti-aging and beauty results. The Glamour Gloves have a soft gel lining of olive oil, grapeseed oil, and vitamin E which intensifies the hand cream.
I say “bye bye” to chapped lips with constant use of the Burt’s Bee Beeswax lip balm. I’m so addicted to the peppermint smell and the slight tingle it gives! I recently also discovered the Nourish dry skin lotion which is perfect for everyday use which I pop on after a shower. It’s also gentle enough to use on Lily and doesn’t have a strong fragrance.
No matter what season, I use rose hip oil to moisturise my face and Argan oil for my hair. I’m now using Sukin organic rose hip oil as it’s 100% organic and it comes in a good size bottle (50ml). I’m using Moroccan Oil to nourish the ends of my hair. Now that I’m not pregnant anymore, it’s time to visit the hairdresser’s again to balayage my hair again…but it’s still hard to find time whilst breastfeeding.
