When I was in primary school, I used to get this holographic sticker film (I called it ‘Contact’) to cover all my textbooks. I was hooked on the futuristic sheen and rainbow hues that I repeated the textbook covering year after year. And now decades later in 2013, holograms are huge being featured in various Spring/Season collections such as Stella McCartney, Hugo Boss and Jonathon Saunders.
Kate Moss shows how it can really pop an otherwise simple outfit but not look OTT. If you are keen on the clutch but not on the designer price, high-street versions will most definitely be coming out soon or check out this DIY tutorial.
I’m not keen to do the head to toe holographic look myself (I’d look like an extra on Dr Who), but hints of it in the form of accessories and holographic nails will look ultra cool. What do you think of this trend?
